Global Goals
We are at a time of immense challenges to sustainable development. Billions of people across the planet continue to live in poverty and are denied a life of dignity. There are rising inequalities within and among countries. There are enormous disparities of opportunity, wealth and power. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of our time and its adverse impacts undermine the ability of all countries to achieve sustainable development. Global health threats, geo-political tensions, violent extremism, terrorism and related humanitarian crises and forced displacement of people are the great threats before us. The survival of many societies and of the support systems of the planet is at risk.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or global goals aimed to protect the planet, end poverty and ensure prosperity for all, came into effect on 1 January 2016. There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals with 169 associated targets which are integrated and indivisible. Never before have world leaders pledged common action and endeavour across such a broad and universal policy agenda. Each goal was assigned targets and key performance indicators, to be achieved by 2030.
The scale and ambition of the new Agenda requires a revitalized Global Partnership to ensure its implementation. Intensive global engagement is highly required to support implementation of all the Goals and targets. We at Paradise of Change, are determined to take transformative steps which are urgently needed to shift the planet onto a sustainable and resilient path. We are committed to work on achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and sustain those goals even beyond 2030 in building more peaceful, tolerant, inclusive and secure societies.
